Before and After Care

Program Information
The Latchkey program was developed as a result of community interest.  The program is open to all students who are enrolled in the school.  We do not discriminate against the enrollment of children based upon race, color, religion, sex, national origin or disability.

The children will work and play cooperatively while focusing on listening and following directions, learning self-discipline, and respect for others.

Morning Latchkey hours may begin as early as 6:30 a.m. and will end at the start of the school day.  Afternoon Latchkey hours will begin at the end of the school day and may run until 6:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday.  You must verify program hours with each individual academy.

An adult must sign in all students who attend morning Latchkey.

Students attending Afternoon Latchkey must also be signed out by an adult. Only those adults listed on the child’s information sheet will be permitted to remove a student. All adults who pick up students from afternoon latchkey must have a photo I.D. available upon request.

The program will be closed on any day the students do not have school.  Please see the school calendar for all scheduled off days. It is very important to contact the main office if your child will not be attending the program or if you will be late picking them up.

Program Schedule
Parents are required to fill out the program schedule form and list the times for morning drop off and afternoon pick up.  This will aid in scheduling and billing for the program. Parents who fail to complete this form will be billed for the entire morning and afternoon sessions.

Early Dismissal
In the event the school is closed for an emergency prior to the regularly scheduled dismissal time, the latchkey program will not be held. When possible the school will send non-emergency early dismissal schedules home in advance.

We plan to provide a variety of nutritious snacks as part of the afternoon Latchkey program only. Food substitutes may be made in the event of food allergies noted on the registration form.

Toy Policy
Latchkey staff or the school will not be responsible for any toys, games, or cell phones that a child brings into the program that gets damaged or stolen. Students are not allowed to bring in toy guns or weapons of any kind. It is best if they don’t bring anything of this kind.

Medication Policy
We prefer not to administer medications of any kind, but if necessary, special arrangements can be made. You must fill out the required medication form from the school’s office.

Communicable Disease Policy
A child suspected of having symptoms of a communicable disease will be isolated until his/her parent/guardian can be called and arrives.  Parents will be notified in person, by phone, or in writing if their child has been exposed to a communicable disease.

Please speak with our office to complete an application and receive the entire parent manual for Latchkey.
